You aren't going to be happy to read this story... This is a slender tree shrew. It's actually a pretty good picture of one given how fast they usually are. Unfortunately, for some reason, this little guy was seriously injured. It was darting around on the road, but was obviously unable to move right. It wasn't hit by a car or anything that we could tell what was wrong, but it wasn't long for the world.. It's possible it had been bitten by a snake or took a nasty fall and had internal damage we couldn't see. Probably shortly after we found it, it either died from it's injuries or was eaten by something. I'm torn on putting this pic on here because it's so sad. But that is nature, unfortunately.
