This is a family of Steppe Marmots which are entirely endemic to Kazakhstan. Very common in this protected area, they've been mercilessly hunted to extinction in most of their former range. There are many species of Marmot, Prarie Dog, Groundhog and the like around the world. All of them cute and entertaining to watch.
