On a whale watching trip, we followed this group of 5 killer whales until they dove under. We lost them for several mintues. They suddenly popped up 10 feet off the back of the boat.
They had caught this full-grown male California Sea Lion. It was obviously already injured and gasping for air at this point.


One violent attack from one of the larger members of the group kills the sea lion quickly.


The waters erupts with blood and all 5 killer whales began breaching, rolling and celebrating the kill. They sincerely looked happy and playful about it!
