Poor Lonesome George is easily the most famous tortoise to ever grace human record. He was the last Pinta Island tortoise ever found and lived alone from 1971 until June 24, 2012. While I work very hard to assure all my shots are from the wild, with this poor guy there's no option except to show the zoo shot. With George's death, this sub-species is now extinct.
