A Striped Owl killed a mother rat this night. The next night, we saw an ocelot at the same place. It was responding to the cries of the baby rats left abandoned by this kill. There were no cries the 3rd night. Life in the wild is hard. Rufugio Da Ilha area of Southern Pantanal, Brasil Sept, 2009
