Markhor are a rare species of goat. They only live in the mountains of Northern Pakistan, Northern Afghanistan and Southern Tajikistan. While they are still under threats from poaching, they are actually a bit of a success story due to the hard work of local conservationists. Their numbers are returning and in some areas it's actually quite easy to see them (though from a great distance).
