A shrew runs across the pavement of the main road in Pt Reyes National Seashore. While it may look like a mouse or rat, shrews are canivores. They are very high energy like hummingbirds. There are several species of shrew around so I can't tell which one this might be, but all shrews are insect eaters so the ant on this one's tail is rather amusing.
